Materials:

  • A strip of paper long enough to reach around their heads, plus a bit extra.
  • Another piece of paper big enough to make a large circle for the roof.
  • Some black markers or crayons for geometric shapes.
  • Bright colors: watercolors, pastels, markers or crayons.
  • Staples and a stapler – or tape.
  • Glue gun.
  • Plastic plate.
  • Pencil

Instructions:

  • Take a long strip of paper and draw geometric shapes and patterns on it.
  • Then use bright colours, such as pastels, markers or watercolors and colour in the shapes.
  • Then using a child's head for measurement, place the strip of paper around the child's head and staple the ends.
  • Using a big plastic plate make a circle by tracing it with a pencil for the roof of the hut.
  • Cut out the circle.
  • Colour in the circle with brown crayons.
  • Cut a slit towards the center of the circle.
  • Curve the circle to make a cone shape and staple the slits together.
  • Glue gun the roof to the base.
